Lovers of adventure, hiking to the Dian Fossey graveyard is a great expedition not to miss while in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park.
Dian Fossey is an American researcher who began research about Gorillas in the Jungles of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
After constant civil wars in DR Congo, Dian Fossey decided to leave DR Congo and shifted to Volcanoes National Park.
While in Rwanda, she built a research center for Gorillas and lived with these apes for eighteen years till her death.
The trekking starts in the morning via trails that wind through lush jungles, rolling hills and valleys up to the graveyard.
On the way, you will be exposed to various Wildlife species such as wild animals, and bird species not to mention the awe-inspiring views of the towering volcanoes and landscapes.
Once you reach there, the guide will lead you around visiting different spots like her hut, the graveyard for one of her favourite gorillas “Digit” and more.
