Our 6 Day Gorillas and Wildlife Adventure in Rwanda combine Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park and great encounters with the Chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest National Park. It starts in Kigali to the western part of Rwanda and then back to Kigali.

6 Day Gorillas and Wildlife Adventure in Rwanda

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Volcanoes

You will be welcomed by our Safari guide, and transfer to Kigali for a city tour. After city tour, have lunch and then drive to Volcanoes National Park. Accommodation at

Luxury; Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trek – Ibywachu

Be at the Park headquarters in time for group allocation and a short briefing conducted to highlight tourists on how to behave while in the Jungle. After one hour with the Gorillas, you will start the journey back to the starting point, where you continue from up to your lodge. Relax for some time as you get prepared for the evening visit to the Iby’wachu Cultural village.

Day 3: Visit Dian Fossey’s graveyard.

Have breakfast in the morning, after which you will transfer to the Park headquarters for a scenic hike up to Dian Fossey Graveyard. Dian Fossey was a great conservationist who first raised a campaign towards saving the lives of the Gorillas.
Once you reach there you will tour the Karisoke Conservation Center which exhibits all conservation works done by Dian Fossey.
After returning to the lodge for lunch, you start the drive back to Kigali. Overnight stay at Serena Hotel, Kigali.

Day 4: Transfer to the National Museum – Butare.

Early in the morning start a drive southwards to Butare for a visit to the National Museum. Have lunch at Hotel Ibis before proceeding with the Journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Check-in at Nyungwe Hilltop view hotel or Gisakura guest house.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Chamudongo.

Very early, you will start a journey from the Lodge up to Chamudongo, the starting point for Chimp tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park.
The tracking is always in a group, besides chimpanzees, you are as well exposed to big troops of Angola colobus monkeys.

Day 6: Nyungwe – Drive back to Kigali / visit Genocide Memorials

Say bye-bye the Nyungwe Forest National Park, after breakfast, you will start the drive back to Kigali. Stop en route to visit the Nyanza king’s palace and the Gisozi memorial site. Overnight stay at Hotel Serena / Hotel Mille Colline.

Day 6: Tour Kigali – Departure.

Wake up and have breakfast, spend some time relaxing at the hotel. After checking out to visit some points of interest in the City such as craft shops, local markets and more. Have lunch and later drop off at the airport for your return flight.
